Kenya is grieving over the loss of esteemed human rights advocate and distinguished counsel Pheroze Nowrojee, who died early Saturday, April 5, in the U.S., aged 84.
Nowrojee, who earned significant respect through his extensive career in law and human rights advocacy, played a key role in Kenya’s path towards constitutional reform and democracy.
He acted as the coordinator and official representative of the National Convention Executive Council (NCEC), and he continued to lead the Asian African Heritage Trust up until his death. The trust has been instrumental in enhancing Kenya’s international position in areas such as diplomacy, peacebuilding, education, and cultural preservation.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Nowrojee earned admiration not just for his exceptional skills in court but also for his steadfast dedication to justice and equality.
